Returns and Refund Policy

We want you to be happy with your purchase. If something is not right, here is how we handle returns and refunds.

Your Right to Return (EU Cooling-Off Period)

Under EU consumer law (Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU) and the Estonian Law of Obligations Act (§ 56(1)), you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving your order, without giving any reason.

To exercise this right, you must notify us within 14 days of the date you received your item. You then have a further 14 days to return the item to us.

To initiate a return, email us at info@rongabutiik.ee with:

  • Your order number
  • The item(s) you wish to return
  • A brief reason (optional, but helpful to us)

We will confirm your return request and provide return instructions.

Conditions for Return

For a return to be accepted, items must be:

  • Unused and undamaged — the item must be in the same condition as when you received it
  • In their original packaging where applicable

We reserve the right to refuse a return or reduce the refund amount if an item shows signs of use or damage that reduces its value.

Exceptions — Items That Cannot Be Returned

The 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to the following, in accordance with EU consumer law:

  • Made-to-order and personalised items. This includes spoon rings and any other items made to your specific size or specifications. These are produced individually for you and cannot be resold, so they are exempt from the standard return right. This will be clearly indicated on the product listing.
  • Earrings and piercing jewelry where the hygiene seal has been removed. For health and hygiene reasons, earrings cannot be returned once the hygiene packaging has been opened or the item has been worn. If earrings are returned in their original, unopened packaging, the standard return right applies.

Return Shipping Costs

The customer bears the cost of return shipping, except in the following cases:

  • The item received is defective or damaged
  • The item does not match what was described or ordered (wrong item sent)

In those cases, we will cover the return shipping cost or arrange collection. Please contact us first before sending anything back.

We recommend using a tracked shipping method for returns, as we cannot be responsible for items lost in transit on their way back to us.

Refunds

Once we receive your returned item and confirm it meets the return conditions, we will process your refund within 14 days.

Refunds are issued to the original payment method used at the time of purchase. Depending on your bank or card provider, it may take a few additional business days for the refund to appear in your account.

If you paid by bank link or card via Montonio, the refund will be returned through the same payment channel.

Defective or Incorrect Items

If you receive an item that is defective, damaged in transit, or not what you ordered, please contact us within a reasonable time at info@rongabutiik.ee with:

  • Your order number
  • A description of the issue
  • Photographs where possible

Under Estonian law and the EU Sales of Goods Directive, you have a 2-year legal guarantee on all products. This means you can submit a complaint within 2 years of purchase for goods that do not conform to the contract.

We are not liable for defects resulting from normal wear and tear, misuse, or accidental damage after delivery.
