The laughing gull is found on Estonian coasts and inland waters, its call carrying far across open water. It moves freely between three worlds: it flies in the air, swims on water and walks on land, belonging fully to none of them. That freedom of movement between elements is the thing the piece carries. The gull is also a social bird, living in large colonies while remaining bold and smart when it needs to be.
