A necklace with a real gold beetle (Cetonia aurata) cast in resin on a stainless steel chain. The beetle kept exactly as it was, its gold intact, given a second life as something worn.
Symbology
The beetle is an ancient symbol of rebirth, transformation and inner strength, a creature tied to metamorphosis and the forces of nature where decay and renewal sit side by side. In Egyptian symbolism the scarab is protection and the eternal cycle of the sun. The gold colour is the warmth of old light, abundance and endurance. Resin preserves the exact moment of the beetle as it was, a living colour made permanent.
